The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the backend services powering the Avantis trading platform.

This role is ideal for someone who can own features end to end, move fast, and work across realtime trading systems, Web3 infrastructure, data pipelines, and distributed backend services.

Our primary backend stack is TypeScript/Node.js, with Python used across data, automation, analytics, and operational workflows. Rust experience is a strong bonus, especially for performance critical systems.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and scale backend services for the Avantis perpetuals trading platform.
• Own features end to end, from system design to implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Work on trading related systems such as order execution flows, positions, liquidations, funding rates, pricing, risk logic, settlements, and onchain/offchain coordination.
• Design reliable event-driven systems using tools like Kafka, Redis, queues, workers, WebSockets, and microservices.
• Build APIs and internal services used by frontend, smart contracts, analytics, operations, and risk systems.
• Integrate with EVM chains, wallets, indexers, RPC providers, smart contracts, and transaction flows.
• Improve reliability, observability, latency, and fault tolerance across production services.
• Collaborate closely with smart contract engineers, frontend engineers, product, growth, and ops teams.
• Use AI tools effectively to speed up development, debugging, research, and documentation.
